Welcome to the official website of RTOERO District 15 Halton, serving retired educational workers in Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Acton and Georgetown.
We are one of the 51 districts of the Retired Teachers of Ontario, a voluntary organization of 80,000 retired Ontario educators, which serves as the official voice for all retired Ontario teachers and other educational workers. RTOERO advocates on behalf of all members with all levels of government and partners with other groups to promote issues that affect seniors at large. RTOERO offers its members a variety of services and programs including an excellent health and insurance program.
District 15 Halton was founded in 1973. To read more about our first 40 years please read the history pamphlet produced by member, Jan Murdoch.
With over 2,900 members at the local level, District 15 Halton is one of the larger RTO districts. We have a variety of committees to support our membership, and we sponsor many social events such as breakfasts, special luncheons and theatre outings to promote fun and fellowship. We also publish our newsletter, the Halton Herald, three times a year, and our monthly e-letter, Rapport. Through communication we strive to keep members abreast of new developments and events.

It is with great pleasure that I take on the role of President for RTOERO District 15 Halton for the 2021-22 year. Your District 15 Executive and Board work as a team on your behalf.
We do have a number of openings on our board and we are looking for energetic and service oriented volunteers for the coming year. Even though we are transitioning through some challenging times, we feel that as the year progresses, we will be able to return to in-person gatherings, albeit a little different from what we have been used to.
